Our Story
Gardeners By The Sea (GBTS) was founded by Lisa Arni in September 2004 and affiliated with Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. (DFGC) and National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC) in November of the same year. When the Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs was formed in October 2016, we became one of seven states in this region, along with Maryland, National Capital Area, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Lisa recognized the need for a garden club in the Delaware beach area for an ever-growing population of year-round residents to have an opportunity to share their love of gardening, gardening tips and floral design, to satisfy a desire to get involved in our community and contribute to beautifying the coastal area.

Eighteen years later, Gardeners by the Sea is an award-winning garden club with over a dozen community service projects and about 50 members at any given time. We enjoy knowing others who share our interests and spending time with them and members from other garden clubs.

MEETINGS -- Gardeners by the Sea now has a beautiful new meeting space at the Millville Community Center at Evans Park, 32517 Dukes Drive in Millville, Delaware. With some exceptions, we meet there on the second Friday of the month (September - June), gathering at 12:00 noon, enjoying light refreshments at 12:30 and our monthly program at 1:00 p.m., followed by a brief business meeting.
